SENIOR LEGAL CASHIER

BTMK Solicitors are looking to recruit a Senior Legal Cashier. Experience in a legal account setting and a working knowledge of the SRA accounts rules are essential.

The role is based in our Madison House office and is a full time position. Working hours will be 9 – 5.15 Monday to Friday.

Salary will be discussed during the interview process.

Please find below a description of some general duties, the list is not exhaustive but is
meant to describe the regular work you will be required to conduct.

  • Assisting accounts team with queries & adjustments, particularly in relation to client ledgers
  • Dealing with accounts queries from internal legal departments
  • Assisting with management reports
  • Assisting with annual practising certificate renewal
  • Assisting with annual PII renewal
  • Assisting with annual budgeting process
  • Liaising with auditors on the annual solicitors audit
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Monthly bulk imports for disbursements
  • Client to office transfers
  • Legal aid postings
  • Checking and balancing client completion statements/probate statements
  • Interest calculations
  • Checking compliance with the money laundering regulations when processing transactions
  • Daily bank reconciliations and reviewing outstanding receipts
  • Overseeing purchase ledger function
  • Carrying out analysis and ad hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Manager
  • Covering for accounts staff on holiday/sickness
  • Ensuring adherence to Solicitors Accounts Rules and firm policies at all times
  • Maintaining confidentiality at all times
