Simon Jones has lived in Rayleigh for most of his life, though his roots lie in “The Land of My Fathers”. He attended local schools before leaving to study law at Southampton University and on returning to Rayleigh after completing his education, he joined the then firm of F D Todman & Sons as a trainee solicitor and remained with the firm after qualification. He works mainly within the firm’s private client department, advising individuals regarding their legal affairs, including wills, powers of attorney, probate and residential conveyancing and he is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly. With over 30 years of experience he is now acting for not only client’s children but in some cases their grandchildren! Outside of work he is an active member of Rayleigh & District 41 Club, of which he has been Chairman and also is active in a local Church, as well as being a trustee of a charity working with vulnerable children and adults in Zimbabwe. He is married to Carol, a local veterinary surgeon and they have 3 grown up children. In his spare time he is a keen watcher of sport especially rugby and enjoys travel and playing with his young grandson.
