IT & Facilities Assistant

BTMK Solicitors are looking to recruit a highly motivated candidate to join our IT and Facilities department. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in the field, have a current full driving licence and will be able to work on their own initiative and have the ability to prioritise their work load. Salary will be discussed at interview stage and will be commensurate with experience.

Role Profile

To assist the Head of IT and Facilities in ensuring all IT and Facility functions run smoothly within BTMK and its 4 locations. The role covers a wide variety of tasks but its primary function is to ensure that IT and Facilities enables employees to work efficiently whist abiding by IT best practice (Security, data protection), Health and safety, Fire regulations and other applicable regulations.

Location

The job is located at the company’s Head Office at Clifftown Road, SS1. There will be a requirement to travel to other BTMK offices located in Leigh on-Sea, Rayleigh and Southend

The key tasks of the roles are:

Information Technology

  • Monitoring and responding to Incidents in the IT Support mailbox, ensuring excellent communication is maintained to users at all times
  • Set up and instillation of PC’s and Laptops
  • Set up and instillation of desk phones
  • Server maintenance; including Active Directory, Exchange Server and File server
  • Office 365 Administration
  • Hardware troubleshooting, repair and instillation
  • Mobile devices trouble shooting and setup
  • Application support; MS Office, Case Management systems, Adobe.

Facilities:

  • Desk moves / furniture moves as required
  • Assisting with office relocations
  • File archiving / confidential waste
  • General admin duties
  • Postal admin; including sorting incoming mail, franking machine maintenance
    and DX deliveries (Holiday cover only)
  • Stationary; maintaining stock levels of stationery and ordering resupply where
    required (Holiday cover only)

Essential Attributes and experience:

  • Good awareness of the use of Microsoft based IT environment
  • A good verbal and written communicator discreet and confidential when required,
    whilst polite courteous and professional
  • Able to analyse, translate, document, simplify and prioritise requirements
  • Organised with an ability to flex based on business requirements
  • Good understanding and awareness of IT systems
  • Good understanding of Cloud based technologies
  • Knowledge of the Legal Sector would be of advantage, but not essential

  • Server 2019 / 2016 / 2008
  • Office 365 including Office, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Multiple Case Management Systems

Hours
Normal hours are 9am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Special Circumstances
From time to time it may be necessary for the jobholder to be flexible in meeting the needs of
the company and its customers. This may require the jobholder to work extra hours or carry
out other duties, which are not listed in this description.
